Pavement and Noise Reduction Performance of Open-Graded Asphalt Friction Course Improved by Waste Tire Crumb Rubber

To further reveal the road performance and noise reduction of open-graded friction course (OGFC), crumb rubber prepared by adding waste tires were considered, requirements material put forward. avoid influence particle swelling on aggregate, special gradation mix proportion OGFC mixture designed, size 4.75 mm was proposed as control size. The test results show that aggregate forms a good embedded structure. resilient modulus, deformation performance, fatigue R-OGFC asphalt with different contents studied. According to results, content under best effect proposed. that, after certain amount rubber, has been greatly improved, especially dynamic stability improved 84%. Although modulus decreased 10%, creep 37%, life 31% (2% content), can reach 3.6–8.6 dB, is significant. This shows particles between 1.5% 2%, modified application prospect.
